Carl Zeiss defiantly holds all 8 positions. These huge ultrateles work great with converters, but these lenses are so big that it's not fun to carry them. It is sharp as a tack, fast, and has a convenient zoom range; however, I would only recommend this wide-angle lens for photographers with full frame cameras. The amount of blur is not especially huge, it's "only" 90mm f/2,4 in full frame equivalent but this lens has some of the smoothest bokeh I've ever seen, way better than a regular 85mm lens.
